Am I registered to vote?

Registering to vote makes voting easier. When you move, update your registration with your new address. It’s easy to register, change your address, or confirm your registration status using Virginia’s secure online portal.

How do I vote?

Voting is more accessible and secure than ever. There are three ways to vote: Early, By Mail, and on Election Day. Select any of the options below to learn more about the options to cast your ballot.

Vote by Mail

Request a ballot to be mailed directly to you. After voting, you can return it by mail, at any early voting location, or on November 5th.

Vote Early

The most convenient option to cast your vote. No-excuse early voting early is available starting Friday, September 20th. Additional locations open from October 17th to November 2nd.

Vote on Election Day

Vote at your designated polling location between the hours of 6am and 7pm on Election Day, November 5th. This is your last opportunity to cast your vote.

  • Friday, September 20thEarly Voting Begins

    Early voting begins at 3 locations, the Fairfax County Government Center, Mt. Vernon Governmental Center and North County Governmental Center.

    Vote by Mail ballots are mailed out on this date.

  • Tuesday, October 15thVoter Registration Deadline

    Register to vote or update your registration by 5pm to be eligible to vote.

    Same-day registration available for those that miss this deadline.

  • Friday, October 25thDeadline to Request to Vote by Mail

    Request an absentee ballot to be mailed to you by 5pm.

  • Thursday, October 17Satellite early voting locations open

    An additional 13 early voting locations will be available.

  • Saturday, November 2ndLast Day to Vote Early

    Last day to vote at any of the available early voting locations.

  • Tuesday, November 5thTuesday, November 5, 2024 General and Special Elections

    Polls open 6am to 7pm. Vote at your regular polling location.

    All offices will be on the ballot.
